History

The Company has owned and operated cranes since the 1960's, primarily for use on their own civil construction and building projects with occasional hire to other users.

In 1987 the earlier pin jib cranes were replaced with this fully hydraulic truck mounted crane. This unit met the changing safety requirements of the time and was much more manoeuvrable and quicker to set up, thus providing the opportunity for increased outside hire work.

In 1998 it was decided to get serious about pursuing crane hire as a separate division of our business. This photo shows our first new Franna being handed over at the Brisbane factory. As this machine was the 1000th Franna that the factory had produced, Robert and Tom Turner were guests at a special handover ceremony at the Factory.

The Crane Hire division of TP Turner Pty Ltd has grown steadily since 1998 and now boasts a fleet of modern and well maintained cranes and a staff of fully trained and licensed operators. The photo at right is of a small part of our fleet.
